Hubert M Schoemaker and Jeni Schoemaker, the founders of Schoemaker Design are the brains behind City Walker. Their goal behind creating City Walker is to get tourist in a given city, a locals guide. You get to experience a city the same way locals do. If you are looking for a canned experience of tourist hotspots, we are not your travel application. If you like to experience cities like a locals, then City Walker is your application. Live like locals, that’s what we are trying to achieve.
What City Walker does is simple. City Walker use your location to find great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, places to see and local events all within a 15 minute walking distance of your current location. In fact we will only give you recommend places that are within a 15 minute walking distance. No Planes, Trains, Metros, Subways, Cars, Uber’s, or Lyft’s, just your two feet.
With the tap of a button you can get turn by turn directions, facts about the place, hours of operations, popular times and ratings based on locals that live in the city. While this will give you a unique local perspective on place in the city, we want to go further. If a business chooses to join our platform, we will give you the option to take some follow on actions like a discount, book a reservation so you don’t have to wait or purchase tickets all while walking to the location.
We didn’t design with mobile in mind but rather we designed it to increase mobility. We want you to have real life experiences in the city, which is why the design of the app is simple and unobtrusive.
